When she starts getting some serious attention, her best friend turns into a lie-spreading hater. Jordan discovers what she needs most is to find the strength to be herself. YOUNG ADULT FICTION |A| Jourdan Lemons REVIEW: Sixteen year old Jordan Wright, high school student starts her freshman year, popular, pretty and with her self-esteem intact. Gone is the frizzy hair and the clothes that say "I was bought by mama". She is confident enough to try out for a popular rapper's new video with her best friend Adrienne. Jordan makes it and her best friend doesn't and you know what happens when a best-friend is left out in the cold. Troubled by rumors and lies that are soon spread by someone close to her, she finds out the hard way who are friends are. She also learns that everyone who says they are for you and your success really aren't your friends. Finding her inner strength and belief in herself is what she has to do to make things Sweet again.
I liked the story because it shows what teenagers have to go through in school other than passing your classes. It identifies the areas of peer pressure, popularity and the pettiness of others.
