REVIEW: We are back in Aspen Creek, Colorado, and talented author Kathy Douglass is bringing to the stage the last Montgomery brother, Nathan Montgomery. Previously, we met Miles (VALENTINES FOR A RANCHER), and we met Isaac in THE RANCHER’S BABY. Love is in the air as the Montgomery family is preparing for the wedding of Miles and Jillian. Isaac and Savannah are engaged, and Nathan, well Nathan is concentrating on his 5-year plan for his family’s cattle ranch which is the largest in the state of Colorado. Well, you know what they say about plans.

Our heroine, Alexandra Jamison, a pediatric nurse and single mom of a toddler daughter, Chloe, has been in Aspen Creek for about five months staying with her aunt, Rose. I’ll allow you to discover the reasons Alexandra moved to Colorado from Chicago when you read the book. Neither Nathan nor Alexandra is looking for a relationship. Nathan has his ranch to manage, and Alexandra has Chloe to raise. Alexandra is encouraged (more like pushed) by her besties to enter Aspen Creek’s Bachelor Auction to bid on an eligible bachelor for a date. They believe that the hard-working nurse is long overdue. Nathan is persuaded by his brothers to enter the bachelor auction to garner good publicity for the ranch. What could happen? A nice night out on the town,….one and done, no commitment. Right? I like the auction scene. The bidding really gets out-of-hand!  All I can say to that is you really need to read the story to get the full effect. It’s going to be a little more than a “one and done”.

The side characters, Alexandra’s besties, and Nathan’s family members, have key roles in contributing to the intrigue of the story and the development of the main characters. I loved the wedding scene when Miles and Jillian tie the knot, where the “no commitment” couple is present. The HFN is so promising for our couple as Nathan’s five-year plan gives way to something so much better.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the
Aspen Creek Bachelor stories. I know you will too.  I recommend WRANGLING A FAMILY for your reading pleasure.
