REVIEW: The third installment of talented author, A.C Arthur’s The Fabulous Golds Series, assures us that on-line love sites can lead to unexpected love  connections. Desta Henner, the heroine of the story, aka Dear Lover 1288, is looking forward to meeting her on-line connection man with whom she’s had a three-month, hot and steamy virtual relationship at the Dear Lover Weekend Retreat. What she doesn’t know is that man, Dear Lover 1687, is no stranger, but someone whom she has worked with, become like a member of his family, and shared special moments. Enter Maurice Gold, Desta’s longtime friend and co-worker at world famous Ronald Gold Fashion. I love the scene when Desta and Maurice realize they are Dear Lovers 1238 and 1687.

Do they stay and participate in the Dear Lovers Weekend Retreat activities? You betcha, and as the saying goes, “It’s On and Poppin’!” The first time Maurice and Desta  find themselves alone in his room, and able to realize those sexual fantasies, they confided to each other during a three-month period, is one of the best ‘first time’ love scenes written. Ms Arthur draws you in with her grown and sexy style of writing. Trust me; it’s H.O.T.! During the remainder of the weekend retreat, we learn a lot about our lovers, and some insights into their pasts. I’ll allow you to discover the backstories of Desta and Maurice and how it still haunts them. While they are at the retreat, two characters who are also registered keep showing up like bad pennies. Since the retreat only lasts a weekend, we get to see how Desta and Maurice handle themselves once they are back at work at RGF and interacting with the congenial Gold family. In addition, a couple of intriguing sub plots develop that add depth to this friends-to-lover story. No spoilers.

There is a robust cast of complex characters who contribute to the dynamic storyline. I love the Gold family and the support they lend to the main characters. On the other hand, watch out for Kelli, with an ‘i’ and her partner, Travis who have no redeeming qualities at all. You’ll get that when you read the story. The HEA is a winner!

I enjoyed
THE LAST AFFAIR, and I recommend it for your reading pleasure.  I also recommend the other two books in this series. A PRIVATE AFFAIR, Book #1 and AT YOUR SERVICE, Book #2.
