REVIEW: Prince Jasiri Adebesi has a dilemma. In order to take over the throne from his ailing father as King of Nyeusi, he needs a bride. He immediately thinks of his ex, Reigna Devereaux. He is confident that Reigna will accept his proposal, if he agrees to give her his half of her beloved home, left for Jasiri in her great uncle’s will. Even though Reigna is livid with Jasiri’s proposal, she accepts. She has to stay married to Jasiri for two years in order to order to gain possession of property that should have been hers. Jasiri is keeping a secret from Reigna. She thinks Jasiri is an ambassador in Nyeusi. In the two years they were dating, he never told Reigna his true identity.
Reigna is the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and a force to be reckoned with. This consummate business woman was taught by the best, her late uncle. Any form of intimidation is quickly dealt with, and a lesson is learned that Reigna is not one to be underestimated. Jasiri Issa Nguvu is of the Royal House of Adebisi, crown prince and heir apparent to the throne of Nyeusi. His present goal is to seek a wife before his ascension to the throne.
ROYAL BRIDE DEMAND is a beautiful story of black love, albeit among royalty. Jasiri and Reigna enter into a marriage pact with certain guidelines. They tell themselves it is only for two years, and they can endure it. Divorce will happen at that time, according to the marriage contract. But love and their past intervenes, and things turn in another direction. This author created two strong main characters who complement each other so well. In public, they present a united front despite their animosity to each other behind closed doors. Which is a smoke screen to hide their true feelings. This fast-paced page turner has a good plot and characters you will love and appreciate. Jasiri and Reigna sizzle together and their passion is off the charts!
ROYAL BRIDE DEMAND is an excellent read that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. It will keep you reading each page to see the sparks fly between Reigna and Jasiri. I am looking forward to LaQuette’s next story.
