ROMANTIC SUSPENSE

REVIEW: For this story, we travel to Washington, D.C. to that venerable establishment The Corporation. If you have no idea what The Corporation is allow me to refer you to A MERRY INVITATION: THE CORPORATION to help you out. Now, back to NEVER TOO LATE. Niko DiLaurentis, music mogul and a man who you would think has everything, but not when it comes to the love of his life, Rowyn Blackstone. At the root of this story is one of the age-old tropes of Romancelandia, older man-younger woman. Let me tell you, A.C. Arthur weaves this trope into a stellar storyline.
Rowyn Blackstone is the younger sister of one of Niko’s mentees who was killed. The age difference between Niko and Rowyn kept him away from Rowyn except to look out for her from a distance. Now, Rowyn is working at The Corporation part-time to try to hold on to some property and legacy that her father left her. She is battling foreclosure, sky-high second mortgage interest rates, needed renovations, and no help. No help, that is, until Niko returns home to D.C. He “encounters” Rowyn at The Corporation working a shift. His first question is “Why?” When Nico first met Rowyn, she was twelve. and he was twenty-three. As she grew older, he began to see her as a beautiful and desirable young woman. Abandoning his feelings for her, he leaves D.C. to build what is now his multi-million-dollar music career in Atlanta. Well, he is back in D.C., and time brings about a change. He is back for Rowyn.
Not only does this story track the romance between Nico and Rowyn, but there is a cloud of danger that hangs over Rowan’s head. Her life is in danger, and Nico is determined that he is not going to lose Rowyn to violence like he lost her brother. You will get that when you read this engrossing story. Familiar characters from other books appear in this story. I love the character connections. Oh, the bad guy in this story is bad-to-the-bone, and he deserves what he gets. No tea. You can read it for yourself. The Epilogue houses a wonderful family scene on Thanksgiving Day, and a loving and bright future for Nico and Rowyn.
I recommend NEVER TOO LATE for your reading pleasure. The Corporation stories are off shoots of the Donovan Dynasty Series. If you know A.C. Arthur, then you know the Donovans. I’m just saying.
