REVIEW: I have been looking forward to reading the second installment of The Love & Music Suite Series by the talented writer, Reese Ryan. NEVER THE RIGHT TIME is here, and once again we are in Atlanta, Georgia and learning more about the talented musical artists who are products of the Peachtree School of the Arts. For this story, we delve into the lives of Cedrick “Ced” Brown, talented record producer, and Anika “Nikki” Hart, a singer who is trying to revive her failing singing career. First, let me congratulate Ms. Ryan for the excellent way she inserts mental health concerns into this second chance at love storyline that entertains as well as informs.

Nikki Hart, once a member of a talented and popular trio KLN-3, is rebounding from a failed engagement to a controlling music mogul and the break-up of KLN-3. Before she travels to London to seek a fresh start, she makes a stop in Atlanta to attend an event at her Alma Mater, Peachtree School of the Arts. Nikki also plans to make amends with her high school sweetheart, Cedrick. An apology is certainly in order for cutting him out of her life when she became engaged. The idea of facing Ced has her anxiety on “100”, and it rises when she discovers that she is sitting at his table.

Cedrick and Anika are perfect for each other. He knows her intimately, but he also knows how to calm her fears and anxieties. I love them as a couple! Ced is not without his issues. Grief plagues him since the death of his mother, and Nikki has a way of helping him through that. For both, family is everything. Nikki has her sister, and Ced has his two younger sisters whom he nurtured and guided after the passing of their mother. What happens after Cedrick and Anika reunite at the Peachtree School affair is the heart and soul of this story. Despite past tragedies and affairs, they both come to the realization that life together is so much better than apart.

The family members and friends of our leading couple are ever present and offering their advice, whether it is wanted or not. We also get to catch up with Karris and Ward from
SPIN THE BLOCK (Book #1 of the series). There are two scenes, in my opinion, that mark the mental growth of our heroine. The first one is when Nikki stands her ground with her ex-Dino Bradley, and the second one is when she claps back at two of her high school classmates who never had a kind word for her. Those scenes show her newly acquired confidence and growth. The HFN for our couple is a testament to their Long Journey Home. You will get that when you read the book.

I recommend
NEVER THE RIGHT TIME for your reading pleasure. You can thank me later.
