REVIEW:  LENNOX’S TALE cleverly reimagines the familiar fairytale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Instead of a simple retelling, Aja does a wonderful job of using the classic’s motifs-searching for comfort, belonging, and the ever elusive “just right.” Headlining this creative tale are Lennox and Naima. They are both in search of their own versions of home and acceptance.

Lennox is looking for acceptance from his rigid father and pursuing a path which proved to be too hard for his sensitive and compassionate personality. Lennox considered his father “too hard” while his father looked at Lennox as “too soft.” You will find yourself rooting for Lennox, celebrating his successes, and mourning his setbacks. Naima, our leading lady and yoga instructor, works at The Three Bears Retreat, with two other women. The retreat is an incredibly special place that offers its resident-customers a program to meet their needs from wellness to rest. Lennox is faced with a challenge by his mogul father concerning The Three Bears Retreat. That, my friends, is the heart and soul of the story. Lennox’s presence at the retreat, and his relationship with Naima revolves around personal growth and a sense of belonging and purpose.

You can always count on Aja to supply some great music to go with reading her stories. Check out the playlist for
LENNOX’S TALE.

LENNOX’S TALE is a beautifully written novel that will linger with you long after the final page. I recommend it for your reading pleasure. This story is an exploration of healing, love, and the courage it takes to find the “just right.”
