ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
REVIEW: Drew Taylor is a police officer in Juniper, Colorado. When the chief of police informs the department that he is implementing a mentoring program, groans could be heard all over the room. The veteran cops would be partnered with rookie cops to help them adjust to working on the force. The problem is Drew isn’t thrilled. He feels his time is too important to be babysitting a newcomer. He has a killer to find and feels that Nia Brooks will only be a liability to him. On the other hand, Nia is excited to be working with an officer she has admired since joining the force. With her sharp wit, Drew soon realizes that Nia is more of an asset and the right person to work along side him to find the killer. Their growing attraction is another benefit of working together. When Nia’s sister is kidnapped, She and Drew double down to find the killer before it’s too late.

Drew is a ten-year veteran police officer on the trail of a serial killer. He is confident that the lunatic terrorizing their town will be caught soon. With the entire city watching, this case has the ability to make or break Drew’s career. Nia was a 911 operator until one day she listened as a caller was being murdered and she felt helpless. She felt that she could be more useful by becoming a police officer and help bring criminals to justice.

HOMETOWN HOMICIDE has a serial killer running around and always seems to be one step ahead of the police. While the city of Juniper watches to see if the local police can make their city a safe place to live again. This story draws you in from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. The author has written this exciting thriller that at first glance does not reveal the killer’s motive. But then Ms. Wheatley starts to feed the reader a few bread crumbs at a time to follow until a killer emerges and his motive is made clear. This is an attention getter narrative with well-defined and likable characters. What a great read!

HOMETOWN HOMICIDE is a must-read action packed, fast paced page turner that will keep you glued to your seat. And of course, a little romance is always a plus. Nia and Drew are the dynamic duo who brings this serial killer to justice.
