REVIEW: Constance (Connie) Shaw is VP of Operations at Layton Executive Protection Agency (LEPA) that is owned by her best friend, Trinity Layton-Brooks. Business is very good and it’s Connie’s job to make sure it stays that way. While the business is thriving, Connie’s personal life is not doing well, and that’s due to one man, Trace Halstead, security specialist at LEPA. Connie and Trace have irresistible chemistry, but according to Connie’s rules, Trace is off-limits. As far as Trace is concerned, some rules are meant to be broken.

When it comes to writing Romantic Suspense, talented Sharon C. Cooper is one of the best in the business. The tension that is caused by outside forces is just as potent as the sexual tension between Connie and Trace. What starts  out as a simple run to the bank for Connie, ends in a horrific tragic experience that requires a security specialist to protect her from someone who is out to kill her. Trace proves he is up to the task of protecting Connie in spite of any protests from her. As far as he is concerned, Connie is his to protect. No details; No spoilers. The story is a clever, tension-filled mix of robbery, murder, arson, and attempted murder. Throw in a partial tat, and two pair of haunting gray eyes to complete a living nightmare for Connie. You’ll get that when you read the story.

All the minor characters contribute to the intrigue of the story and the development of the main characters. When the threat to Connie ends, she and Trace are free to enjoy a satisfying HEA.

HIS TO PROTECT is a well-written, engaging story that will keep you turning pages. The connection between romance and suspense is natural and believable. I recommend it for your reading pleasure.
