REVIEW: HIDDEN ENEMY, the fifth installment in the Evanescence Series, masterfully weaves suspense, emotional depth, and complex character arcs into a gripping story. The novel plunges readers into a world where trust is both a weapon and a vulnerability, and where the lines between friend and foe are blurred.

The novel’s plot is a labyrinth of secrets and revelations. With every chapter, Ms Campbell ratchets up the suspense, allowing the reader to piece together clues alongside the characters. I love it! Themes of betrayal, forgiveness, and the search for identity run deep. The relationship between Mia, Maxine, Arif, and Aram are thoroughly developed.

Mia, one of the central figures, is the epitome of resilience. Her determination to uncover the truth pushes the story forward. Maxine, Mia’s twin, confidante, and sometimes her conscience, is utterly loyal. Arif, another standout character is layered. He is both a source of intrigue and tension. Last, but not least, Aram, a foil to both Mia and Arif. His actions play a pivotal role in the unraveling of the story’s central mystery.

HIDDEN ENEMY is a standout entry in the Evanescence Series, delivering suspense, and drawing the reader into the web of intrigue. The pacing is tight, with enough twists to keep the pages turning. It is an intricate tale of secrets, loyalty, and redemption. I recommend HIDDEN ENEMY for your reading pleasure.
