REVIEW: Zora Nelson and Cyrus Hart meet under the most unusual circumstances. Zora arrives at his door to break up with him on behalf of his girlfriend. Zora owns a break-up management company. Yet, an instant attraction looms between her and Cyrus. Of course, neither one expected to see the other again. But, as fate has them running into each other, it allows their attraction to grow a little more with each encounter. The slow burn grows into some sizzling moments, especially when Cyrus talks Zora into being his fake girlfriend. These two fall in love, and Cyrus decides it’s time to make another plan. One that includes Zora for the rest of his life.

Zora is a take-charge kind of person in the business she runs with her two siblings, Levi and Miriam. Even though she has a lot on her plate, especially with her family, she has endured it for years. Cyrus is an ambitious entertainment attorney with a plan for his life, including a wife in the future. But unfortunately, those plans unravel when his girlfriend breaks up with him.

HEATED is aptly titled because it definitely brings the heat. This interracial romance pairs two great characters who are alike in some ways. Both of them carry around baggage from their childhood. Their attraction is instantaneous, electric, and not a part of Cyrus's plan. But, things don’t always go according to plan. Sometimes surprises can be a good thing, as Zora and Cyrus find out. Ms. Simone is one of my favorite authors, and she scores another winner with this unique concept. This book has characters that are entertaining, likable, and humorous. And a little family drama never hurts.

HEATED
is Book #1 of Ms. Simone's new series, Burned, Inc. Book 1. This book is hot indeed. Although it takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, I recommend this page-turner for hours of reading pleasure. Personally, I am looking forward to reading more about Levi and Miriam.
