REVIEW: First, there was THE AFTERMATH, then BACKLASH, now CONVERGENCE, and Nate Reigns is the character, the man who reigns in all three. To fully understand what is happening in the Nate Reigns series, I strongly suggest you read NEWS WITH CURVES, S.I.B.s, (The Society of Intellectual Beings) Book #1 and S.I.B.lings, Book #2. Now, back to CONVERGENCE. Nate is still on the case to uncover and destroy the white supremest organization, P.I.E (Purity Through Infiltration and Elimination) that has infiltrated not only the Richmond, Virginia government entities, but also the Federal government and other cities in the United States. It is not going to be easy because P.I.E.’s deadly tentacles are unrelenting and expanding.
Fortunately, Nate is not fighting alone. He is backed up by the TA (The Administration) headed by Sapphire Lassiter Palmer and endorsed by the African American President of the United States, J.D. Harrison. If those names or organization is not familiar, then you have a lot of back reading to do. I’m just saying. Along with the TA, there is Skylar Burrell, Federal Prosecutor, a new character, Camille A. Leone, a take-no-prisoners sister, and the enigmatic Tyson “siblings.” Remember S.I.B.lings?
The story begins with the death of William DeFazio, the head of the DeFazio cartel. His death leads to an investigation, and another link to the deadly serum that P.I.E. has developed. The same serum that was used to kill Nate’s friend, and the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Alex Burnett (AFTERMATH). It is Alex’s murder that sparked Nate’s commitment to bring down P.I.E.
P.I.E.’s major minions Cory Vaughan, Elizabeth “Ms. Strawberry” Rolfeman and her father, Senator Rolfeman, along with others, are in for a fight. The storyline picks up when Nate, the TA, and everyone involved in the war to bring down P.I.E. decide to “follow the money.” You will completely understand that when you read the story. I cannot omit Empress Charlotte and the mysterious Krystal whose true character is finally revealed. Who are they? Again, dear readers, you will find out when you read this engrossing book.
I loved this story and the entire series. Iris Bolling has written a timely and relevant story that resonates and relates to the political climate that we are living in today. THE AFTERMATH, BACKLASH, AND CONVERGENCE warn us to be vigilant because there are entities in high places that are determined to roll back years is progress that minorities in this country have made and continue to make. I highly recommend CONVERGENCE for your reading pleasure. Seriously, check out the books that I have included in this review. You can thank me later.
