Review: The Magic of Mistletoe
Harlequin Kimani Romance

REVIEW: THE MAGIC OF MISTLETOE by Carolyn Hector is a pleasing holiday read. The author sets this story in Tallahassee, Florida where we immediately find ourselves enmeshed the upcoming Christmas holiday.

The hero, Duke Rodriguez, former sports figure turned news anchor, starts the season with an on-air declaration outing Santa Claus as a fraud. This does not sit well with our heroine, Macy Cuomo, or her two children who are fans of the handsome hero. Needless to say, Duke has a lot of explaining to do for that faux pas. Not to mention, Macy is a divorcee with two children, and an entrepreneur whose business, Winter Wonderland, thrives from creating the perfect holiday decorations for many homes in Tallahassee. Even though Macy and Duke are instantly attracted to one another, their relationship does not immediately take off. There are some hurdles that must be conquered. Duke is determined to knock down any and all barriers to seal the deal with Macy.

The side characters play prominent roles in the lives of Macy and Duke. From the “besties” to the children, the author does a superb job incorporating them into the storyline. Their prodding, poking and planning are key to seeing that Macy and Duke become a couple. There is even a semi-villainous ex-girlfriend who almost becomes the love connection deal breaker. Great scene!

I liked
THE MAGIC OF MISTLETOE, and I think you will find it enjoyable, also. So, light the Christmas tree, deck the halls, and don’t forget the mistletoe
