REVIEW: FOR YOUR LOVE ( Blessings Book 6) continues the legacy of the Blessings series as it entertains, educates, and immerses the reader into the eclectic lives of the citizens of the town of Henry Adams.

The heroine, Bernadine Brown is still 'turning the world' from her desk at the Power Plant as she guides the town into a bright future. Trent July, the hero, is ironically not the love interest of Bernadine, but the Mayor of the town. But that's the beauty of this book. The storyline pulls the reader in and completely captivates. You laugh and shed a tear all in the same chapter. It's a roller coaster ride of emotions, characters, and stories within a story.

The side characters are so instrumental to the storyline that it's hard to select a favorite. They range from 'her horsiness', Astrid Wiggins, Mayor of Franklin ( Bernadine's nemesis) to the recurring denizens, Lily, Tamar, Mal, Devon, Brain, Crystal, Zoey and Amari to name a few. These characters are so dynamic and well-developed that they appear throughout the series. The new characters, whose family story is the center of this novel, are Bobby, Kiki and their twins. Consequently, the main idea of this novel, as well as the entire series, is strong on family. That theme is emphasized and developed as the family dynamic is exposed and presented on several levels.

If you are familiar with the Blessing series, then you know that Beverly Jenkins gives you not only a great story, but also a history lesson. She is a master at intertwining fiction with history, and the town of Henry Adams is steeped in history.

FOR YOUR LOVE is the sixth book of this series. If you have not read the previous books, I suggest you make it a priority to do so. I highly recommend FOR YOUR LOVE. It's a wonderful read that combines comedy, drama, historical facts, and where the blessings keep on coming!
